As our RCIA community continues to grow in faith, our ministry needs the participation of faithful Catholics who are willing to share the faith journey with other adults who are in process of becoming Catholic or preparing for Confirmation.
One way to learn more about your faith is to join us as a faith-sharer, and perhaps become a sponsor for a friend you know or will meet in the group.
We discover many things about the parish, about ourselves, about our faith together.
Topics include the Bible, Saints, the prayers of the Church, Catholic devotions, the Liturgical Year, sacraments, Church History.
In the short time you will be sponsoring, you will learn a lot and have a wonderful time with other faith-filled persons!

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN
INITIATION OF ADULTS
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a renewal of the ancient Tradition of the church, a process by which those who wish to enter the church, to join the faith community, are prepared and welcomed by the faith community.
The Christian Initiation of Adults is for those who wish to become Catholic, and for baptized Catholics who wish to complete the sacraments of Initiation: Confirmation and Eucharist.
It is also a process that will help those who wish to learn more about the Catholic Faith.
Catholics who have been away from the church, and are in process of returning to active membership, may find the process, the formation and the community very helpful to them on their journey.
Adult Initiation (“RCIA”) is a process of questioning, searching, learning, sharing, praying and celebrating which moves in these stages:
PRECATECHUMENATE -- a time of welcome and inquiry
CATECHUMENATE-- a time for formation, study and discussion
ENLIGHTENMENT -- a time to focus on prayer, conversion and reflection
INITIATION -- our sacramental celebration, at the Easter Vigil or at alternate times when a person is ready.
POST-BAPTISMAL PERIOD (MYSTAGOGY) -- a time for reflection and deeper understanding of the Catholic Christian lifestyle You are welcome as inquirer or as a faith-sharer: Welcome anytime!

The Process – The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults – “RCIA”
A sequence of periods of time and special rites (rituals), during which an adult or young adult comes to understand better what it means to live as an active Catholic in the world today, designed for those preparing for baptism and adapted for those already baptized.
· Weekly evening meetings studying our faith, learning our Catholic way of life
· Faith sharers, members of the parish, companions in faith
· Discernment process for the Rite of Acceptance
· Sunday morning Mass and reflection on the Scriptures
· For baptized Christians, initiation into the Catholic Church when you are ready
· For Adult Catholics, celebration of Reconciliation and First Eucharist when you are ready
· Discernment for the Rite of Election with the Bishop
· Lenten season, special prayers and rites
· Celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation, for some at the Easter Vigil
· Weekly meetings continue through Pentecost, feast of the “Birth of the Church”
· For Adult Catholics, Confirmation will be celebrated with the Bishop at the time of Pentecost
The Participants
All begin as “Inquirers”
Those seeking to be baptized as Catholics (“catechumens”)
Those Baptized Christians seeking to become members of the Catholic Church (“candidates”)
Those Baptized Catholics who have had little formation in their faith who seek to celebrate Confirmation and their First Communion
Those Baptized Catholics who have already celebrated their first Eucharist and Reconciliation seeking Confirmation
Parish members and friends who are “faith sharers” and who may become sponsors and godparents.

SOLICITAMOS: ADULTOS QUE BUSQUEN crecer en LA FE
En lo que nuestra comunidad de RICA continúa creciendo en la fe, nuestro ministerio necesita de la participación de fieles católicos quienes deseen compartir la jornada de fe con otros adultos quienes se encuentran en proceso de convertirse en católicos o que se están preparando para la Confirmación.
Una manera de conocer más sobre tu fe, es uniéndote a nosotros compartiéndola y posiblemente convirtiéndote en espónsor de algún amigo(a) que conozcas o que conocerás en el grupo.
En este programa descubrimos juntos muchas cosas sobre la parroquia, sobre nosotros y sobre la fe. Los tópicos incluyen la Biblia, los Santos, las Oraciones de la Iglesia, las Devociones Católicas, el Año Litúrgico, los Sacramentos y la Historia de la Iglesia. En el corto periodo que participes en éste programa, ¡aprenderás mucho y pasarás momentos maravillosos con otras personas también llenas de fe!

RITO DE INICIACION CRISTIANA DE ADULTOS
UNA JORNADA DE FE
El Rito de la Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos es una renovación de la tradición antigua de la Iglesia, un proceso en el cual, aquellos que desean ingresar a la Iglesia a formar parte de la comunidad de fe, son preparados y bienvenidos por la comunidad de fe.
La Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos es para aquellos que desean convertirse en católicos, y para los católicos bautizados que desean completar los sacramentos de iniciación: Confirmación y Eucaristía.
También es un proceso que ayudará a aquellos que quieran aprender más sobre la fe católica.
Para los ya católicos que se hayan alejado de la Iglesia y que desean a volver a ser católicos activos, este proceso, la formación y la comunidad les será de gran ayuda en su jornada espiritual.
La Iniciación de Adultos (”RICA”) es un proceso de cuestionamiento, de búsqueda, de aprendizaje, de compartir, de orar y celebrar el cual consiste de las siguientes etapas:
PRECATECUMENADO - Etapa de bienvenida y cuestionamiento
CATECUMENADO - Etapa de estudio y diálogo
ILUMINACION - Etapa de enfoque en la oración, conversión y reflexión
INICIACION - Nuestra celebración sacramental durante la Vigilia Pascual o en fechas alternas cuando la persona está lista
PERIODO POST-BAUTISMAL (MISTAGOGIA) - Etapa de reflección y comprensión más profunda sobre la forma de vida católica cristiana

El Proceso - El Rito de la Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos - “RICA”
Es una secuencia de etapas y ritos especiales (rituales), durante los cuales un adulto o joven adulto, llega a comprender mejor lo que significa vivir como católico activo en el mundo de hoy. El proceso está diseñado para aquellos que están preparándose para se bautizados y adaptado para quienes ya fueron bautizados. El programa se compone de:

Reuniones semanales vespertinas de estudio sobre nuestra fe, aprendiendo nuestra forma de vida católica

Miembros de la parroquia como compañeros quienes nos comparten su fe

Proceso de discernimiento para el Rito de Aceptación

Misa matutina dominical y reflexión de las escrituras

Iniciación en la Iglesia Católica para cristianos bautizados en otra denominación

Celebración de la Reconciliación y Primera Eucaristía para católicos bautizados

Discernimiento para el Rito de Elección con el Obispo

Temporada de Cuaresma, oraciones especiales y ritos

Celebración de los Sacramentos de Iniciación. Para algunos en la Vigilia Pascual

Reuniones semanales continúan hasta el día de Pentecostés, celebración de “El Nacimiento de Cristo”

Confirmación para adultos celebrada con el obispo el día de Pentecostés
Los Participantes
Aquellos quienes simplemente tienen preguntas sobre la fe Católica.Aquellos que buscan ser bautizados como católicos (”catecúmenos”).
Aquellos cristianos bautizados en otra denominación que buscan ser miembros de la Iglesia Católica (”candidatos”).Aquellos católicos bautizados que tienen poca formación en su fe y buscan celebrar la Confirmación y la Primera comunión.Aquellos católicos quienes ya celebraron su primera Eucaristía y Reconciliación y buscan la Confirmación.Miembros de la parroquia y amigos quienes nos comparten su fe y quienes quieren ser espónsores o padrinos.
